9 March, 2020 Hi Everyone, This is just a quick update about the evolving coronavirus situation, or COVID-19 to be precise. We’re well ahead of the public health advice Saltwater Medical [...]
Some things in life deserve more time and attention
we believe your health is one of them
We are a state-of-the-art, family-owned, private-billing general practice focused on delivering exceptional care.
Bookings can be made online or by calling us on (07) 5301 9828.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PHONE LINES & MESSAGE FACILITY
Our phones are very busy at the moment, which means our reception team are often on both incoming lines. If you can’t get through, please be patient and keep trying.
Please do not leave a message – due to circumstances beyond our control messages are unable to be recorded and delivered by our telco at the moment.
We are trying to resolve the issue, but our telco’s support services are limited.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON CORONAVIRUS AND OUR ENHANCED INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES
General Practice is an essential service and we will be open as usual throughout this time in order to provide vital ongoing support to our patients. Please note that you are permitted to leave your house to attend medical appointments.
Because of the serious public health situation in relation to Coronavirus we have put in place rigorous infection control procedures at our practice.
These measures have been in place since the end of February 2020 (well ahead of public health advice) and include:
– Stringent reception triaging and screening protocols
(Please note you may risk being suspended from the practice if you are not honest with our reception team about cold & flu-like symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19 before attending the practice)
– Adjustments to patient flow to separate patients with cold or flu-like symptoms who can be seen for any medical condition in a temporary structure in our ‘Car Park Cold & Flu Clinic’ (existing patients only – appointments essential)
– Stringent environmental cleaning and infection control procedures
– Appropriate social distancing – please only bring essential people to the consultation
We apologise for any inconvenience as we work together through this difficult time and we sincerely thank you for your honesty, goodwill, continued kindness and understanding of these necessary precautions required to keep our patients and our staff safe.
All services remain on offer safely from our facility because of these measures.
What if I have symptoms?
In most instances we can continue to safely consult with our existing patients with cold & flu-like symptoms (runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat etc) in our outdoor, under cover 3-bay, drive-in ‘Car Park Cold and Flu Clinic’.
Please note that this facility is for existing patients only and appointments are essential (no online bookings for the ‘Car Park Cold & Flu Clinic’).
Please phone the practice for more information on how these appointments work, and please only bring the essential people to the consult. Payment must be made over the phone via credit card only.
Managing our appointments and patient flow like this allows us to separate patients with cold & flu-like symptoms from other patients and gives our doctors the ability to wear the appropriate protective equipment while consulting with you. This protects all patients, staff and our doctors from the risk of cross infection, while still providing necessary care to our unwell patients that need us – at some point in the near future this could be you, and you can rest assured we will be here for you.
Please help us and be honest and patient
We have enhanced screening and patient flow protocols in place, so please be honest when our reception team ask screening questions, and please be patient and understanding during this time. We are always doing the very best we can for our valued patients, while also trying to provide vital support to our local public health facilities.
