Christmas – New Year Practice Closure
Our practice will be closed from 12pm Friday 24 December 2021 and will reopen at 7.40am on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
We’ve worked hard to care for our patients throughout another very challenging year, so we’re taking a small break to spend time with family and recharge ready for 2022. If you need medical assistance during this time, you could call our after-hours service on 13 74 25, or you could attend the Caloundra Minor Injuries and Illness Clinic on West Terrace (8am-8pm 7 days). In case of an emergency please call 000 or attend the Emergency Department.
We thank our patients and local health services for your trust and your support in 2021.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON CORONAVIRUS AND OUR ENHANCED INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES
We have rigorous infection control procedures at our practice, including:
– Reception triaging and screening protocols
– Enhanced environmental cleaning and infection control procedures
– Social distancing – please only bring essential people to the consultation
– Adjusted patient flows to separate patients with exposure risks or COVID-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell, headache, diarrhoea, nausea or muscle pain)
–Patients with any COVID-like symptoms MUST have a negative COVID SWAB less than 48 hours old before we can consult face to face in our outdoor car park clinic. We can offer a Telehealth consultation if required while awaiting COVID test results.
Please note: you risk being suspended from the practice if you are not honest with us about cold & flu-like symptoms or known exposure risks to COVID-19 before attending the practice.
We sincerely thank you for your honesty, goodwill, continued kindness and understanding of these necessary precautions required to keep our patients and our staff safe.
All services remain on offer safely from our facility because of these measures.
– It is a Mandatory Condition of Entry that your hands are sanitised, you check in on arrival, and that a fitted face mask is worn by anyone 12+ (if you need one you can purchase one from us for $1).
If you have visited any of the exposure sites listed by the QLD GVT, you are required to isolate and get a COVID test asap at a GVT testing site.
Thanks for doing your bit to help to keep everyone safe.

Answers to other common questions we are getting:
Q. Can I get my second Pfizer dose at Saltwater Medical if I had my first dose elsewhere? A. Yes.
Q. Do you have Astra Zeneca or Moderna? A. No. We are only administering Pfizer at this stage.
Q. Can I book a Pfizer appointment if I’m not a patient of Saltwater Medical? A. No. We are only administering vaccines to existing patients. This is because we need to be familiar with your medical history before we can take responsibility to administer your vaccine. If new patients or a family member of existing patients who have never seen a doctor at Saltwater Medical wish to get a Pfizer vaccine in one of our clinics, they must first attend a consultation with one of our GPs so we have the appropriate medical history on record.
We strongly encourage all of our patients to receive a vaccine as soon as they are eligible.
