Dr Nicola and the team are thrilled to welcome Dr Thanu Shekar to the team at Saltwater Medical.
Dr Thanu is an experienced consultant GP who has recently relocated from Melbourne to enjoy the Sunshine Coast lifestyle. She gained her Fellowship with the RACGP in 2012 and is currently completing her Masters in Skin Cancer through the University of Queensland. Dr Thanu offers expert skin checks and a range of advanced procedures and treatments for skin cancer and skin conditions. Dr Thanu is a warm, delightfully positive GP with a diverse set of skills and training. She has a special interest in women’s and children’s health, along with skin cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr Thanu also enjoys a range of general practice procedural work, including:
- Skin excisions
- Implanons, Mirenas and Copper IUDs, and
- Iron Infusions
In her spare time, Dr Thanu enjoys the beach, coffee gelato and is also a tennis enthusiast. She played pennant level tennis fixtures and has officiated as a line umpire at the Australian Open Tennis Championship!
Dr Thanu is currently welcoming new patients and is available for appointments on Monday to Thursday.
