After a long search for the right GP, Dr Nicola and the rest of the team would like to officially welcome Dr Rick Allen to the Saltwater Medical team. Dr Rick is a down-to-earth, good natured, experienced and caring doctor who will be consulting full time with us (Monday to Friday) as of Monday 13 January 2020.
Rick is a new arrival to the Sunshine Coast, migrating here following 17 years of service with the RAAF. He is a dedicated, Australian-trained consultant GP who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. He went on to complete his specialist GP training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2018. Rick has a special interest in women’s and men’s health, aviation medicine and sports medicine, as well as sexual health and family planning. He takes great pride in spending quality time with his patients to achieve exceptional collaborative care and he enjoys time with his wife and three kids in the pool or down the beach. He is a cricket and AFL fan and loves movies and music.
Rick is looking forward to meeting new patients and will be available for appointments Monday to Friday from 13 January 2020.
